Buy a Kayak and have bags of fun!

My first introduction to a Kayak was at an outdoor adventure centre when I spent a week on an outward bounds course. During that eventful week I took part in numerous outdoor activities and part of the fun was to take to a lake in Kayak after a night spent camping under the stars. Like I say, I had never set foot in a kayak before and the closest I’d been to kayaks was watching people cruise in them on programmes on the television. Still, this was no time to chicken out, I had to get to grips with the Kayak and fast; luckily the kayak we were using came from www.vikingkayaks.co.nz so it was really easy to handle from the start.

The Kayak we were using was designed for two people, one sat in the front and one sat in the back. It quickly became apparent that you have to work as a team when you are paddling a Kayak otherwise you end up going around in circles. Yet with a bit of practice you learn how to stroke at the same time and this gives you greater control over the kayak. We somehow managed to limp across the lake without too much trouble, whether that was skill or sheer luck I couldn’t tell, but at least we got the Kayak to the other bank without it tipping us in the water. That might have had something to do with the design of the Kayak and the fact that it was one of the many kayaks supplied by www.vikingkayaks.co.nz.

I have to say it was a fun experience to spend time in a kayak and I can see why people buy them for leisure or for fishing. Apparently the kayaks supplied by www.vikingkayaks.co.nz are very stable craft and that makes the ideal base to fish from and land a whopper. Their kayaks are light but very strong and that’s very important when you are using a Kayak. Obviously if the Kayak is lighter it’ll be easier to handle and it has to be strong to cope with a range of conditions out on the water. It was certainly enjoyable when I was introduced to a Kayak for the first time and I’d love another chance to take to the water at some point in the future.
