Traditional furniture from Chesterfield

We offer a range of traditional furniture items designed and built to the highest standards. Our items include sofas, chairs, wing chairs and footstools from our Classic and Heirloom collections. Fleming & Howland have been family upholsterers since 1780.

In the period since then, the techniques and skills that are required to build an authentic British Chesterfield have been passed down through the generations.  We begin our work by selecting the highest grade skins and the most attractive woods.

This is followed by the meticulous handcrafting of the final product, using traditional designs and methods, which continues for several weeks. The resulting item of furniture is framed, upholstered and finished by hand, using the now almost forgotten time-honoured techniques that make our furniture items so distinguished and impossible to mistake.

In addition to our extensive Classic and Heirloom collections of furniture, we also offer a tailored service. Our Tailored designs continue to uphold the high strength and quality standards of our other Chesterfield furniture, while also catering for our customers’ specific ideas and needs. We build each piece exclusively to order, meaning that bespoke designs can be offered in an infinite range of leathers and fabrics. Also offered are various cushion filling options including foam, leather and fibre, so that comfort is at its optimum.

You will receive one year cover with your furniture for any leather defect, in addition to 10 year cover for the frame, allowing for fair wear and tear. Also available, on request, is an optional five year warranty that protects against any accidental spills and stains. For our UK customers, should there be an accident, your furniture will be either completely replaced or repaired by a professional upholsterer.

Here at Chesterfield Furniture, we believe in originality as the basis of all good things – just get in touch with us now to find out more about our range of traditional furniture.
