Wall insulation, or cavity wall insulation as it is often known is something which can lower energy loss by as much as 35-40%, allowing people to save a large percentage on their heating bills each year. The process of installing wall insulation is a simple one, which offers minimal disruption to the household whilst offering maximum impact, so it is definitely worth considering. The process involves injecting a substance into wall cavities in order to help the property retain heat, thus allowing individuals to lower their heat and cut their costs. Wall insulation will pay for itself time and time again.
Wall Insulation Grants
Some of you may be reading this and thinking ‘I can’t even afford my heating bills let alone cavity wall insulation’, however, this is not necessarily a problem. There is, in the UK, a government scheme which could help you with the costs of installing cavity wall insulation in your home.
It does not matter whether you area council tenant, home owner or private tenant, you may still be eligible for a grant. The grant can cover up to 100% of the cost of cavity wall insulation if you are over 70 or, are in receipt of certain benefits but, even if you are not, you could get a grant for between 50 and 70 % of the cost anyway, so it is well worth applying for, as it will pay for itself year after year once installed.
