Which Fire is Right for You?

When you are looking to choose a fire, it is worth remembering that your home, and most importantly your chimney will dictate which fire you can have. Knowing the type of chimney you have will help you make the right choice.

If you have a brick chimney, there are a number of options available to you. These range from gas fires, electric fires right up to those which burn solid fuels such as wood and coal.

Those with a pre-cast flue (signified by no chimney breast and the appearance of raised ridge tile on the roof) also have many options available to them. They can have the choice of an electric fire or gas fire. Consequently, the gas fires they can have have to be either a slimline version or a multiflue fire.

Those with a pre-fabricated flue can use any electric fire and depending on the flue diameter, a selected range of multiflue gas fires

If you have no chimney, it is not the end of the world. You have many options such as electric fires, flueless gas fires, balanced flue gas fires and power flue gas fires.
